Read ‘em weep em-effers!
-96% efficient
-Dual stage burners
-Variable speed fan, controlled by a frigging microprocessor (moon lander what?!).
Seriously though, I’ve been staring at it while silently admiring it’s efficiency and stealth operation, it is so damn quiet it makes my the furnace of my childhood home sound like a freight train.
I feel kinda weird about how psyched I am about a simple appliance. Veteran home owners is this normal?

Just relax and bask in the heat. Possibly with whisky or a nice beer

I think I have the same one, you should admire it, it wasn’t cheap

I’m sitting on the washer, doing exactly that, does that make me weird?

*wum. wum. wum wumwumwumwmwmwmwm*
That’s the sound I would hear through the ducts as the old fan accelerated up to speed. Replaced the whole unit about a year ago, and it’s super quiet.

Totally normal, I'm still fascinated with the touch screen thermostat that came with our new furnace 2 years ago. It has a freakin USB port.

Not at all.

It depends, is the washer on? What kind of beer/whisky?

Lit-lol, that’s exactly how I remember it sounding, I couldn’t have vocalized it better!

Uh, I didn’t consciously try to make a pun, it would be fun if you shared your interpretation.
Mean while, enjoy this pun:
I walked normally until I went to Europe and in Germany.

hahahahahahaha
and you stoke a furnace (if it’s coal powered)

If you plug a thumb drive into the USB you can watch porn on your thermostat, WHAT A COUNTRY!

It's normal. Or at least I think it is. I did the same thing when I had a new AC compressor with a silencer system installed a few summers ago.

I get it now, thanks lit-lol. I would have never connected...

“-Variable speed fan”
Why did this take centuries to exist in the home.
Also, any idea as to why home HVAC units don’t work like automotive units: constant fan, cycled cooling/heating?

Somewhere there’s someone writing a virus right now to mess with your thermostat while you’re asleep. The only way to infiltrate the thermostat is through porn on a usb stick.

I don't even own a home yet but I am excited for you. A new furnace sounds amazing right now.

I had to buy a new HE boiler last year. Ouch.
We went tankless with 96% or so efficiency and 140k BTus with a 77-degree rise at 3.2 gpm flow. Crazy stuff and yes, I completely obsessed over it.

Yes. This is normal. Although since I am in the South, I only have a 80% AFUE unit installed two years ago. Two stage gas valves and 4 speed blower.
Now on the other hand, there’s the multiple thousands of dollars in cooking equipment in my new kitchen, such as the 6 burner rangetop and the 30 inch electric oven, and new dishwasher.

Of course. When I bought my first front loading washer, I sat and watched it go through a whole cycle.

Six burner range top!? What-yeah have like ten kids? Jk.
BTW, as a northerner, I cheaped out on my AC because I won’t die if it gets too hot. Also JK, tongue/cheak.

Skilled trades are in high demand now, learn to be an electrician, plumber or truck driver and in 5 to 10 years, you can buy a house, cash.

No, it’s that I have other things that I like doing outside of cars and driving on race tracks. :)
Now when you start going “ooooOOOOOooooo” over washing machines and dryers, then you know that you are a homeowner.
